3H provides the following standard services offerings:
Getting Started
Getting Started provides hands-on knowledge transfer to
your technical staff so they can start working effectively with
Altiris solutions. This is typically a one-week engagement that
provides:
- initial setup and configuration of the Altiris solution,
- initial setup of the Notification Server and/or Deployment
Server (typically in a lab),
- testing the Altiris solution's configuration against several
lab assets, and
- sampling of as many as 25 production nodes for the selected
solution.
Additionally, this offering provides a standardized report detailing
the configuration tests in the lab, the results of the production
sample, and an outline explaining the next steps towards implementation.
Consulting Process
For larger organizations, the consulting process becomes more
involved than a simple Getting Started package. Altiris Consulting
engagements are designed with every phase of the software purchase
process in mind. From evaluation to implementation and beyond,
Altiris will tailor a consulting engagement that can meet your
needs. As demonstrated in the following diagram, these engagements
are often recommended at various times during the purchase process.
Proof of Concept
A Proof of Concept is a two day to one-week offering that investigates whether
specific functionality will work in your unique environment prior
to purchasing the product. It can also be used to uncover/discover
architectural issues that would be critical to solution success.
This service almost always requires set-up of a lab that replicates
your production environment. As part of a Proof of Concept engagement,
Altiris consultants will provide a Knowledge and Skills Assessment
of your technicians involved in implementation and management.
The Assessment provides suggested Altiris Education options to
help prepare your team members for implementation of the Altiris
software. This Education should be completed prior to the Design
phase of the consulting engagement.
Design
Design is a three-to-six-week consulting engagement that initially
reviews your organizational infrastructure and needs; consultants
then architect an Altiris solution to be configured to fit your
preferred organizational processes and technical environment.
The Design offering can include gathering a detailed hardware
and software inventory for as many as 5,000 nodes or 85 percent
of the environment (whichever is less). Finally, the consultant
provides a detailed solution design document that covers required
solution infrastructure and configurations, specific hardware
requirements, risk management plan, pilot plan and implementation
plan on how to properly deploy the Altiris infrastructure and
solutions.
Pilot
A Pilot is a two-to-five-week offering designed to test the implementation,
deployment and/or migration recommendations resulting from a Design
offering in a limited-scope production environment. The offering
also provides your internal staff with the documented processes
necessary to complete deployment of the solution to your entire
environment, including recommendations on change control management
and rollout schedule.
Full Implementation
A Full Implementation offering typically lasts four weeks or more
and is for customers who want assistance in managing the full-scale
deployment while leveraging an onsite industry expert(s). This
offering is customized to match the scope and timeframe of a specific
project. As prerequisites, this engagement requires prior completion
of both a Design and Pilot engagement.
Maintenance and Disaster Recovery
Maintenance and Disaster Recovery is a two-to-three day engagement
that helps you understand the standard daily, weekly, and monthly
tasks required to maintain your Altiris software solution. It
also includes creating a disaster recovery plan for the Altiris
infrastructure and solutions for your unique environment.
Custom Consulting
Custom Consulting services are designed for those who want professional
consulting services beyond the standard installation and/or standard
configuration of Altiris software. Customized service offerings
include, but are not limited to, custom programming, custom report
development, business process analysis and IT project management.
